As a Questar III BOCES STEM Research Institute host company, Norlite welcomed Jenny Starr, who teaches Chemistry in the Green Island School District and spent eight weeks this summer as a participant at Norlite, learning about our manufacturing processes, the recovery of energy from waste, the steps we take to protect the environment and our community, and the excellent careers that are available at Norlite.

She produced a terrific presentation about her experience, as well as an activity book for her students to help them learn why, as the title makes clear, Every Day is Earth Day at Norlite!

Thank you to Jenny and Questar III BOCES, which made her participation possible. Her experience demonstrates the value of science-based industries in our lives and the importance of learning before forming an opinion, an important life skill for her students.
